Freshness Whichever Way You Slice It
To maintain its reputation for freshness, Danish bread company Schulstad turned to Lawson M3, a system with the right technology to quickly get its products within the customers’ reach.
“We couldn’t run our business the way we do if we didn’t have the functionality of the Lawson M3 collaborative enterprise application. Freshness and Flexibility
When Schulstad began looking for a collaborative enterprise solution, one factor was key. The solution had to support the company’s mission to produce bread on an industrial scale tasting as close as possible to bread made in a local bakery.
“Lawson M3 gives us the ability to process high volumes of order lines quickly every day. It also enables us to bake the right products as close as possible to the moment they are delivered,” Christensen says.
The integrated approach and flexibility of Lawson M3 mean Schulstad can manage its supply chain efficiently and cost effectively. Retailers have the opportunity to order later, which allows for shorter lead times and enables Schulstad to fulfill its freshness guarantee.
“The first deliveries start leaving [our] distribution centers at 3:00 a.m., and by 6:00 a.m. they are complete,” Christensen says. “Daily distribution reports measure actual deliveries compared to orders, allowing any mistakes to be quickly rectified. Lawson M3 has given us tremendous flexibility. It’s a very powerful tool.”
Future Proof
Christensen plans to roll the system out to other operating companies in the group. “When we first looked around, our requirement was a future-orientated system. Lawson M3 hasn’t disappointed us. We are developing the company quickly and Lawson M3 has the scalability to grow with us. We see it as a future-proof investment,” he says.
