Lawson Software Names Balmforth Senior Vice President of Support and Delivery
ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 27, 2007--Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN) today announced that Colin Balmforth will join the company in December as senior vice president of support and delivery. Balmforth joins Lawson after serving most recently as vice president of global services for Intelliden Inc., a network configuration management software and services company based in Menlo Park, Calif.
Balmforth brings more than 20 years of leadership experience overall in the software industry. He has held executive level positions with Conexus Partners LLC as well as PeopleSoft and JD Edwards - both in the United States and the United Kingdom. In these roles he developed a proven track record for establishing and executing business strategies and leading service-related organizations. In his new role, Balmforth will report directly to Harry Debes, Lawson president and CEO.
"Colin brings an extensive professional background in the enterprise software industry and has a first-hand understanding of what business software customers need from a support standpoint," said Debes. "Because of his experience integrating and leading global support organizations in our sector, Lawson will be better positioned to deliver simpler, more powerful business solutions with the support our customers need to get the most out of their software investments."
"I look forward to the opportunity to work with the exceptional team at Lawson and to build an even more effective customer-facing organization," said Balmforth. "As a global provider of enterprise software solutions, Lawson needs to build and maintain a competitive edge - not just in products, but also in how it services the needs of its customers. As a team, we are well-positioned to meet the ongoing and evolving requirements of our customers."
Balmforth will be based out of the company's corporate headquarters in St. Paul, Minn.
