Diagnostics Management
Lawson Diagnostics Management (DIM) is an integrated tool designed to assist in the development and management of an effective maintenance strategy and support reliability improvement programs.
Lawson DIM allows a detailed breakdown of an asset’s structure, which is used to identify potential failure points within equipment or other operational units and associated components and subassemblies. The potential failures can then be linked to maintenance routines designed to avoid an actual failure. Criticality rating and consequence analysis systems, together with user-definable statistics, help support the diagnostics decision process. These tools also support techniques such as reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
Justifying any maintenance strategy is important, so Lawson DIM assists you by calculating the cost of prevention versus the cost of failure. This calculation takes into account the cost of preventive maintenance including materials and labor and the cost of the failure, and considers these together with the mean time between failure (MTBF).
Automatic work order analysis highlights potential weak points in your maintenance strategy by identifying failures that should have been avoided by carrying out the predictive maintenance routines. Automatic messaging then serves as the catalyst to rethink the current maintenance strategy.
